Registration

ConceptRegistration

Registration is basically aligning the images from a sequence to be able to process them afterwards.

Note

Calculates the transformation to be applied to each image in order to be aligned with the reference image.

Advice

Layer is the layer on which the registration will be done, green by default for color images, Luminance for monochrome.

WarningReference Image

This is the image which is used as a common reference to compute the transformations that send all the images of the sequence onto this particular one.

If in the frame list window reference image is set :

The current image will be the reference image for registration.

Only one image can be the reference image in a sequence, setting it will unset the image previously set as reference.

If not set manually, the reference image is chosen with the following criteria: if the sequence has already been registered, it is the best image, in term of lowest FWHM or highest quality depending on the type of registration; else it is the first image of the sequence that is not excluded.

During stacking, the reference image is used as a normalization reference.
